On May 16, 1580, Jane Glanton married James Jowsey in Berwick upon Tweed, and on March 3, 1697, John Glanton married Margaret Glover in the aforementioned parish.
On April 13, 1865, Lizzie Lund Glenton, a toddler, was baptized in St. Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne. The first recorded spelling of the family name is that of Thomas Glenton, who married Alice Johnson in 1540 in St. Mary Woolnoth, London, during the reign of King Henry VIII, known as "Bluff King Hal", 1509 - 1547.
